About The Potty Hare

A small, friendly pottery studio where you can slow down, switch off and make something with clay.

Handmade ceramics by Tracy: a hare, a dachshund dish, a pufferfish pot and a lidded jar

The story so far

Hello, I'm Tracy

I'm a graphic designer by trade, a busy mum to a four year old boy, and I've always loved making and creating.

Somewhere along the way, clay became the thing that really stuck (ha ha, excuse the pun!) and the idea of opening a pottery studio of my own simply wouldn't go away.

I love that pottery doesn't have to be perfect, which, as a bit of a perfectionist myself, has taken some getting used to! Clay teaches you to let go, and quite often it's the imperfections that give a piece the most character.

I'm drawn to making things with a bit of personality... often quirky, sometimes wonky, and rarely exactly as planned. That's part of what I love about clay: no two pieces ever turn out quite the same.

The Potty Hare grew from wanting to share that feeling with other people. A place to learn, experiment, meet people and enjoy making things. Whether you've been working with clay for years or have absolutely no idea what you're doing, there is always so much to learn and explore. You will see that for yourself soon enough!
