We're absolutely delighted to welcome our very first guest potter to The Potty Hare...the wonderful Jill Ballard from Absolutely Potty!
Not only is she absolutely potty, but she's absolutely brilliant! ❤️
Jill is genuinely one of the best potters I know, and I've learnt so much from her over the years. She's a fantastic teacher, incredibly talented, and has a wonderful way of making everyone feel comfortable and confident, whatever their ability.
And what better way to kick off our Christmas workshops than by making this gorgeous, round Christmas fairy house, complete with a little wooden door, festive holly and berries!
Never touched clay before? Absolutely no problem!
This workshop is perfect for complete beginners. Jill will guide everyone through the process, step by step, working at a comfortable pace so nobody feels left behind.
And I (Tracy, The Potty Hare) will be there too, helping everyone around the table, making sure you're getting the most out of your creation and, of course, keeping the tea flowing and the biscuit supply topped up! ☕🍪
The aim is simple: have a lovely time, learn something new and create something you'll be genuinely proud of!
How the workshop works
Session 1 – Let's get making! (Approx. 2–3 hours)
You'll be guided through making your very own Christmas fairy house from clay, adding all those lovely little details that make each one unique.
Once you've finished, your creation will be left to dry thoroughly before going into the kiln for its first firing.
Session 2 – Time to add some colour! (Approx. 1–2 hours, around 2 weeks later)
You'll return to the studio to decorate and glaze your fairy house, bringing all those beautiful details to life.
Your finished piece will then go back into the kiln for its final firing, ready for you to collect once it's cooled.
